Silver rounds are immensely popular right now with both investors and collectors. The vast majority of silver rounds are produced to the same purity standards as popular sovereign coin programs, with most silver rounds featuring .999 fine silver. The revival of the Royal Mint Refinery brand is a partnership between London’s Royal Mint, and the newly-formed Elemetal Mint, the largest private minting facility in the United States.
Each of the 1 oz Royal Mint Silver Center Shield Rounds feature the company’s logo and name on the obverse face. This design is circular in nature, with “R.M.R” in the center, “The Royal Mint Refinery” encircling it, and an outer circle of sunshine rays finishing off the design. The round’s weight, purity, and metal content are included on this side as well.
For the reverse design, the unique image of an eagle holding a shield is featured as the primary design set. On this shield you’ll notice the Union Jack, official flag of the United Kingdom on the left. On the right of the shield, the Stars and Stripes of the United States of America. The same sun-burst ray design is featured on this side as well.
The Royal Mint is the sovereign mint of the UK, and was founded in London in the 8th century. Elemetal Mint was formed by Ohio Precious Metals, NTR Metals, and Provident Metals. The three companies formally established Elemetal in July 2015, with Ohio Precious Metals rebranding its facilities and products (along with new products) as Elemetal Mint.
