This privately minted 1 oz Walking Liberty Copper Round celebrates the artwork of Adolph Weinman, whose design graced the obverse of the US Half Dollar from 1916-1947. It has been skillfully crafted using 1 avoirdupois oz of .999 fine copper and ships in brand new mint condition. To ensure that this item remains intact during the transport process, every round is packed in either a protective coin sleeve or a tube of 20. It is worth mentioning that even though this round copies the design from an actual coin, it has no legal tender face value and consequently, cannot function as such.

Round Highlights:

  • Consists of one AVDP ounce of .999 copper.
  • Features one of the most iconic images from American coinage.
  • Designed in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman.
  • First used on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar (silver) coin from 1916 to 1947.
  • Currently used on the official silver bullion coin of the US; the American Silver Eagle.
  • Available in brand-new condition.
  • Struck at a private facility in the USA.
  • Arrives in a protective flip for individual rounds or sealed mint tubes of 20 for multiples of 20.

The front of this round offers an impressive replica of Weinman’s original design. It shows Lady Liberty as she treads lightly across American soil to greet the rising sun. She is classically attired in a star spangled toga and a Phrygian cap. With one arm holding a bundle of laurel branches and the other one outstretched in a welcoming gesture, Weinman’s rendition of Lady Liberty demonstrates the generosity that this country demonstrates towards those who come here in search of freedom and a better life. Also contributing to this sense of optimism evoked by the round’s design are the words, “Liberty” and “In God We Trust,” which are engraved at the very top and lower right of the round, respectively. The only component excluded from the coin’s original design is its mintage year and the face value.

Although the front of the round stays true to the original half dollar, the reverse departs from the coin’s design by featuring a stylized version of the heraldic eagle. This unique interpretation of the emblem features an oversized shield, supported by a pair of eagle wings as it hovers over the nation’s initials and an unfurling scroll. Its patriotic motif is is further enhanced by the appearance of six stars, which appear to its left and right, and the US flag, which waves proudly above it. Printed along the border are both the round’s purity and weight for convenience.
