The United States Mint first released the $20 Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagle coin in 1907. It enjoyed over two decades of circulation until 1933 legislation discontinued the use of all gold currency, making it the last genuine gold $20 coin ever produced. It has since become one of the most highly sought after and revered pieces by both collectors and investors. Today, Pre-33 $20 Gold Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles are available to you online from Silver.com.

All double eagle coins featured in this collection have a gold content of .9675 oz. They are also in above average condition with a certified MS64 (Mint State 64) grade by either the NGC or the PCGS. In order to prevent any potential damage, every coin has remained sealed in its original NGC or PGCS plastic slab since it was certified and given a grade.

Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ artwork for the double eagle coin is considered one of the most stunning designs that US currency has ever seen. On the coin’s obverse is Liberty, classically attired in a flowing toga. She holds a torch in one hand as a symbol of enlightenment and and an olive branch in the other one as a symbol of peace. She stands at the top of a mountain peak, which overlooks the Capitol building. Illuminating the area behind her are beams of sunlight. Saint-Gaudens frames his masterpiece with a border of 46 stars, representing each state at the time of the coin’s minting.

Showcased on the coin’s reverse is our national bird, the bald eagle, as it soars through the clear skies. The same beacons of light that were shown in the backdrop behind Liberty are present behind the eagle as well. The phrases, “United States of America” and “Twenty Dollars” are printed in an arched formation above the majestic bird. Also located at the bottom of the coin is the motto, “In God We Trust.” Please be advised, however, that the motto will only appear on coins that were minted after 1908.

The $20 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle will add both artistic and historical merit to any investment or coin collection. If you require any assistance with your purchase, please call us at 888-989-7223. Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
