The Proof Gold American Eagle coin was introduced to meet the demands of collectors. Each year, the proof version of the Gold Eagle is struck with brand new dies to ensure clean designs and stunning finishes. All Proof Gold American Eagle coins contain only gold sourced from within the US.
Each of the coins in this product listing has a PF70 grade from the NGC. Coins in this condition still have their full, original luster, and no blemishes of any kind on the surface. Ultra-cameo coins have a design set that appears to float above a clear background field.
On the obverse side of each coin is Lady Liberty. She is featured striding forward out of the rising sun, marching on to a brighter future with a torch in her right hand and the olive branch of peace in her left.
The reverse side bears the namesake image of the coin series: the bald eagle. Miley Busiek designed this particular depiction in 1986, specifically for use in this coin series. Engravings on this side include the coin’s weight, metal content, purity, and face value.
All Proof Gold American Eagle coins are struck by the United States Mint, with the majority coming off the coining presses in New York state. If you have questions for a Silver.com associate, you can call us at 888-989-7223. We’re also available online through our live web chat and via email.
