Gold American Eagle coins bear some of the nation’s most iconic images. Lady Liberty is a common fixture on American coins as a symbol of freedom and the chance at a new life in America. The bald eagle, America’s national emblem since 1792, represents the nation’s power, majesty, and longevity. Both images feature prominently on the 2012-W 1 oz Proof Gold American Eagle coin, available in perfect condition on Silver.com.

Proof Gold American Eagles are the collector’s version of the nation’s official sovereign gold coin. The Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985 paved the way for production of these coins. When originally introduced, the Gold American Eagle was available in bullion (1 oz, ½ oz, ¼ oz, and 1/10 oz) and proof (1 oz).

In 1987, the ½ oz coin was added to the proof lineup. In 1988, the ¼ oz and 1/10 oz coins were added to the series. The popularity of the individual coins has shifted over the years, but the 1 oz weight remains a top choice by collectors each year.

On the obverse of the Gold American Eagle is Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ image of Lady Liberty. Originally created in 1907 and featured on the $20 Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagle, the artist was never able to see his image in circulation as he passed away months before it was released.

The image featured on the reverse is that of a male bald eagle returning to the family nest. He is featured in flight above the nest as a female vigilantly keeps watch over the hatchlings in the nest. Sculptor Miley Busiek created this image in 1986.

Each coin in this listing has its full, original luster and no detracting flaws. Deep-cameo is a term used to define the strong, frosted design set and the deeply-mirrored, clear background field of the coin.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
