This is only one of many that are part of the O Canada series, coins that reflect the natural beauty of Canada. The bison is one of the most magnificent animals found in Canada, and this coin does an excellent job at honoring this creature. Designed by Trevor Tennant, the image on the coin features a family group of bison grazing on the plains. There are three adult bison along with a baby, who seems to be sticking close to its protectors. The details of the coin are amazing, making it possible to pick out individual blades of grass in the design. Above the bison is the word “CANADA” and below, the phrase “10 DOLLARS” is seen.
The opposite side of the 2014 1/2 oz Bison $10 Canadian Silver Coin features a profile of Queen Elizabeth II. You can easily tell that this is the Queen thanks to the details in the image. The most striking details on this coin are shown in the pearl necklace around her neck and in her earrings. On the right side of the obverse is the phrase, “D.G. Regina” which when translated from Latin to English means “By the Grace of God, Queen.” On the left side is “ELIZABETH II.”
This is a coin that makes an excellent gift for those who enjoy collecting coins or for any investor who is seeking to diversify their collection. Each coin is mailed out securely and all shipments are insured against loss, damage and theft.
