The Royal Canadian Mint is well-known for producing some of the greatest coin designs, and its lunar-themed coins are no different. As part of its larger Lunar Series, these $150 gold coins feature their own, unique designs from Canadian artist Cheung.

All 2015 $150 Gold Canadian Year of the Sheep coins in this listing have Brilliant Uncirculated grades. Coins with a BU condition exhibit no signs of wear and tear, but you may notice detracting flaws such as spotted surfaces, breaks in the luster, or contact marks from the striking process.

The reverse of each coin features the unique Year of the Sheep design. Cheung’s design depicts a goat reaching the top of a mountain, with the rising sun visible behind it. Engravings on this face include the nation issue, year of issue, face value of the coin, Chinese symbol for goat, and Cheung’s “AC” initials below the design itself.

On the obverse of the coin is Susanna Blunt’s right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Engravings include “Elizabeth II” on the left and “D.G. Regina” on the right. The initials “SB” are featured on the bottom of Her Majesty’s bust.

The Royal Canadian Mint operates two modern facilities. One is located in the federal capital of Ottawa, and the latest addition is located in Winnipeg.
