Silver Canadian Bison coins feature state-of-the-art security features from the RCM. On both sides, precision machining produced radial lines that help combat counterfeiting. The reverse bears a small shrinking maple leaf. When viewed under magnification, you should see the year of minting inside the design.

On the reverse side of each 2016 1.25 oz $8 Silver Canadian Bison coin is the image of North America’s largest land mammal as it stops at a stream for a drink of water. In the background you can see the majestic Rocky Mountains rising to toward the sky. The purity of the coin is featured just above the bison, while “Canada 2016” is engraved above. The coin’s metal content and weight are listed below.

The obverse bears the standard image of Queen Elizabeth II as designed by Susanna Blunt in 2003. Surrounding Her Majesty’s bust are the engravings “Elizabeth II,” “D.G. Regina,” and the face value of the coin.

Each coin available today from is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Coins in this condition feature no signs of wear and tear, but may have breaks in the luster, contact marks, or spotted surfaces.
