The Silver Australian Koala coin from the Perth Mint is one of the most highly-anticipated releases each year in the precious metals industry. Available annually since 2007 with new designs, the coins are a hit with both investors and collectors. The 2016 1 oz Silver Australian Koala is now available for purchase on Silver.com in near-perfect condition.

Coin Highlights:

  • 10th release of the Silver Australian Koala.
  • Ships to you in a plastic protective slab courtesy of the NGC.
  • Consists of one troy ounce of .999 fine silver.
  • Issued a face value of $1 (AUD) by the Australian government.
  • Bears a grade of Mint State 69 from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation.
  • Designated as an Early Release specimen.
  • Features the latest Koala design.

For the 2016 release schedule of the Silver Australian Koala, the Perth Mint is striking just two coins. The 1 Kilo version of the coin has an unlimited mintage to meet the demand of investors and collectors, while these 1 oz Silver Australian Koalas have a limited issue of just 300,000 coins for global distribution.

All 2016 1 oz Silver Australian Koalas in this product listing earned near-perfect grades from the NGC. Mint State 69 coins have full, original mint luster, but also feature a maximum of two minor detracting flaws on the surface.

As an Early Release coin, these products met special stipulations set by the NGC. The Perth Mint had to ship these coins to the NGC or an NGC-approved depository within 30 days of the release date set by the mint itself.

On the reverse side is the image of a koala walking along a tree branch, with engravings of “Australian Koala” above and the coin’s year of issue, weight, purity, and metal content below. As always, a “P” mint mark is also featured on this face.

The obverse side of each coin continues the use of Ian Rank-Broadley’s right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This may be one of the final Silver Australian Koala coins with this design as a new version was released in July 2015 by London’s Royal Mint.

We also never have access to your credit/debit card details, as they are securely communicated directly to the payment processor (Authorize.net) and never retained by Silver.com. For this reason, we also don't process credit/debit card orders over the phone, as it is the least secure way to process those transactions.

Upon completing checkout with a VISA or MasterCard credit/debit card, you may be promoted for additional details to confirm your identity and protect our customers against credit card fraud.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
