One of the longest running bullion programs in the world today is the Silver Chinese Panda. Introduced in 1983, at the time it was just the third major program to offer annual silver or gold coin production. Today it is part of an exciting six-coin release from Emporium Hamburg featuring brilliant colors on popular silver bullion coins. The 2016 30 Gram Colorized Silver Chinese Panda Coin is available now on Silver.com.

The Silver Chinese Panda may not have been the first major silver or gold bullion program in the modern era, but it was the very first to use all-new designs on one side with each release year. Only 2001 and 2002 have seen the Chinese Mint use the same design over again in the more-than-30-year history of the Silver Chinese Panda.
On the obverse of all 2016 30 Gram Colorized Silver Chinese Panda coins in this listing you’ll find the image of a panda as it crawls along a fallen branch of a tree. The tree is captured in a dark brown hue, with bright green foliage. The background bamboo wall is also a brown hue, while the panda stands out amongst it all with its traditional black-and-white coloring.
The reverse of the Silver Chinese Panda coin always features the image of the Temple of Heaven. Constructed in Beijing in the 15th century, the complex of religious buildings was built over a 24-year period during the Ming and Qing dynasties of China.
Each 2016 30 Gram Colorized Silver Chinese Panda coin in this listing is in BU condition. Coins with BU condition show no signs of wear and tear, but you may notice flaws ranging from breaks in the luster and spotted surfaces to contact marks from the coining process.
All Silver Chinese Panda coins are originally struck by the Chinese Mint, which operates multiple facilities throughout the country. The mint is not responsible for the colorization of these coins, which was done by Emporium Hamburg, a third-party authorized coin dealer in Germany.
