Good news for silver mine production, as Great Panther Silver Limited reported an increase in their quarterly silver mining production. The results of the mining operations in Guanajuato and Topia totalled 410, 583 ounces and a silver equivalent of 574,740 silver ounces. Just recently, a detailed report in silver mine production for Great Panther was released to the public detailing the mining processes used by the company.
Great Panther managed to gather 288,825 ounces of silver and 369,390 total equivalent silver during the second quarter of 2010. It translates to a 25% increase over the previous quarter’s silver production.
There has been a recent development at Rayas in the form of newly discovered veins, which have been the primary focus of drilling in this area. According to Great Panther, these newly discovered veins will continue to increase ore production until the end of the year. Explorations are currently being undertaken to search the depths of the Rayas structure which could potentially lead to further veins.
The silver production in the Topia silver mining yielded 121,758 ounces of silver which is 19% higher than the total of the 2nd quarter of 2009. Just like in Guanajuato, workers are currently exploring the Topia mine in order to discover new veins which could further increase productivity in the periods to follow.
Great Panther is optimistic that they can achieve their goal of increasing their annual productivity by 20% each year. If things go smoothly, Great Panther should be able to reach their 3.8 million silver ounces goal in 2012. To help them with their silver mines operations, new equipment is being used for the second quarter of 2010.
