Why choose silver mutual funds? There are literally dozens of options when it comes to investing in precious metals. Some investments only look at the value of mining stocks, while others look at the value of the bullion itself. The Best Silver Mutual Funds

When looking at silver mutual funds, two of the best on the market, at least as far as investors are concerned, are Vanguard Precious Metals and Mining (VGPMX) and Permanent Portfolio (PRPFX). They have both received five-star ratings from Morningstar, yet both are distinctly different, with the former being primarily stock-based silver mutual funds, while the latter is a more balanced approach, spread between cash, stocks, bonds and other areas, mainly silver.
