The Chinese Mint introduced the Gold Chinese Panda bullion coin program in 1982. Included in that debut release were four coins, with these 1/10 oz Gold Pandas representing the smallest option that that time. Other coins available that first year included the 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/4 oz options. In 1983, a 1/20 oz coin was added to the series. All five weights are still produced in the collection today.

All 1/10 oz Gold Chinese Pandas in this product listing earned Mint State 69 certifications. MS69 coins have full, original mint luster with no more than two minor detracting flaws present. Acceptable flaws at this grade include online minuscule contact marks or hairlines and these must be located outside the primary focal points of the coin.

Please note that this is a random-year listing. Silver.com selects all coins at random once payment has been processed. We do not hand-pick coins for certain date marks and designs or the presence of additional labels. We would also like you to note that you can receive several coins with the same design and date if you purchase multiples.

For the obverse design of 1/10 oz Gold Chinese Pandas, you will find the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests featured on the coins each year. As for the reverse design field, the Chinese Mint uses a new image of the Giant Panda species on the coin with each date mark. The only exception is the 2002 date mark that repeated the 2001 design.

The Chinese Mint made a slight change to the 1/10 oz Gold Chinese Pandas available in this listing. From 1982 to 2000, the coins had a 10 Yuan face value. That was adjusted upward to 50 Yuan for the period 2001 to 2015.
