The United States and Australia stood shoulder to shoulder in the Pacific Ocean during World War II, the only two major nations of the world fighting to counter and push back the advance forces of Imperial Japan. During five long years of war, these two Allies fought fiercely to ensure the safety mainland Australia and to retake islands throughout the Pacific overtaken by Japanese forces early in the war. Today, the 1/10 oz Gold US Australian WWII Coin is available to you online at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Ships to you housed in individual plastic, rolls of 20 coins, or boxes of 200 coins!
  • Minted by the Perth Mint through December 2013!
  • Availability is limited!
  • Consists of One-Tenth Troy ounce of .9999 fine gold in BU condition.
  • Face value of $15 (AUD) is fully backed by Australia’s government.
  • Queen Elizabeth II features on the obverse.
  • Australian-American War Memorial’s eagle and the national flags appear on the reverse.

As the United States sat out the early years of World War II, Australia stood alone in the Pacific as a counter to the growing territorial holdings of Imperial Japan. The Imperial Japanese forces had expanded off the main Japanese islands to mainland Asia in both modern-day China and the Korean peninsula, as well as nabbing islands from Guam in the central Pacific to Midway and Saipan as well.

All of the 1/10 oz Gold US Australian WWII Coins available to you today are in BU condition. The Perth Mint originally packaged these gold coins inside of individual protective plastic, sealed mint rolls of 20 coins, or boxes that contained a total of 200 coins housed within a total of 10 sealed rolls. The commemorative release of Gold US Australian World War II Coins ended in 2013, with a 1/4 oz coin offered in addition to these 1/10 oz coins.

On the obverse of the 1/10 oz Gold US Australian WWII Coin is Queen Elizabeth II’s effigy. Her Majesty is featured here in the fourth-generation design from Ian Rank-Broadley, which captures her likeness in right-profile relief. Her Majesty is accompanied by engravings of “Elizabeth II,” “Australia,” “1/10 oz 9999 Gold,” “2013,” and “15 Dollars.” The coins also feature the initials of the designer, Ian Rank-Broadley as “IRB” under the Queen’s bust.

The reverse of the 1/10 oz Gold US Australian WWII Coins features a combination of American and Australian images denoting the alliance that was successful in defending Australia and pushing the Japanese back to their home islands. In the center of the design is the majestic Eagle that is perched on the Australian-American Memorial in the federal capital city of Canberra. On the left is the Australian flag’s trademarked cluster of stars, while the right features the Stars and Stripes of the United States of America. Engravings include “Australian/American Memorial” above and “War in the Pacific 1941-1945” on the bottom.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
