There’s no shortage of options when it comes to buying 1/2 oz Gold Bars online at Silver.com. Our selection of variable gold bars includes minted ingots, cast bars, and even hand-poured bars that are perfect for investors or collectors. You really can’t go wrong with gold bars as part of your portfolio or collection.

The mint or refinery that produced the 1/2 oz Gold Bar you receive through this Silver.com listing will determine the style and design. Minted ingots are highly refined gold bars that start out as long cast bars which are fed into stamping machines that use computers to precision-cut the bars and stamp intricate designs into them.

On the other end of the spectrum are cast bars and hand-poured bars. Generally speaking, these two bar styles are roughly the same. Both start out as molten gold which is poured into molds. Traditional cast bars are poured by machinery into those molds and then stamped by machines to feature weight, purity, and metal content marks along with an assayer’s mark, in many cases.

Hand-poured gold bars are treated slightly differently. An individual employee of the mint or refinery will control the pouring process to get gold into the molds to shape the bar. As the bar is cooling, an employee will then hand stamp engravings and designs into the bar. The benefit of hand-poured and hand-stamped bars is the uniqueness of appearance, with no two looking exactly the same.

All 1/2 oz Gold Bars available to you here today come from varied mints. Silver.com cannot guarantee you a specific mint of origin, style of bar (minted ingot vs cast), or the design included on the bar’s obverse and reverse sides. Our warehouse team will select a 1/2 oz Gold Bar containing either .999 or .9999 fine gold for you from our selection once your payment has processed.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
