One of the most coveted designs ever featured on an American silver coin was the Liberty image created by George T. Morgan. Known as the Morgan Silver Dollar, these coins are highly sought after by both investors and collectors. Right now, the ¼ oz Great American Mint Silver Morgan Round is available on Silver.com.

Round Highlights:

  • Consists of one-quarter ounce of .999 fine silver.
  • Features the Morgan Silver Dollar design.
  • Struck originally from 1878 to 1904, 1921.
  • Designed by George T. Morgan.
  • Produced in the United States.
  • Available in individual plastic flips, tubes of 20, or boxes containing 500 oz of silver.

The Morgan Silver Dollar is one of America’s most iconic coins of all time. Struck for the first time in 1878, the coin marked the end of a five-year hiatus in American silver coinage. The Coinage Act of 1873 ended the free coining of silver in the United States, and led to the end of production for the Seated Liberty dollar created by Christian Gobrecht.

George T. Morgan, a 30-year-old sculptor from Great Britain, was hired by he head of the United States Mint in 1876 on a six-month trial. Morgan’s first major design as an Assistant Engraver at the US Mint was the image of Liberty used on the Morgan Silver Dollar. Anna Willess Williams was the inspiration for Morgan’s design, which was achieved through four sculpting sessions.

On the obverse side of these silver rounds you’ll find the original Liberty design from the Morgan Silver Dollar. Her left-profile portrait is surrounded by 13 stars, representing the original colonies, and the phrase “E Pluribus Unum.”

The reverse face of the ¼ oz Great American Mint Silver Morgan Round bears a replica of the original reverse design from the Morgan Silver Dollar. An eagle with its wings outstretched is featured clutching arrows and an olive branch. It is surrounded by engravings that read “Great American Mint,” “In God We Trust,” and the weight, purity, and metal content of the round.

Great American Mint is the largest private mint on the West Coast, and one of the largest in the United States .It produces valuable silver rounds with brilliant designs, and investment-grade bullion blanks.

While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.
