Although the Proof Gold American Eagle coins are available to collectors in four different weights, the demand for those options is not equal. The middle options, including the 1/4 oz Proof Gold Eagle, often have the lowest demand. Today, 1/4 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Coins are available to you online in perfect condition at Silver.com.

Proof Gold American Eagle coins were first released in 1986 alongside their bullion counterparts. However, Proof Gold Eagles were not available in all four weights right away. The 1986 issue year featured only a 1 oz coin. In 1987, the US Mint added the 1/2 oz coin. In 1988, the final two options were released in the form of 1/10 oz and these 1/4 oz Proof Gold Eagles.

All of these 1/4 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Coins are available to you for purchase today with a perfect grade from the NGC. Coins in PF70 condition showcase full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws on the design elements or background fields. UCAM coins have strong, frosted matte design elements overlaying deeply-mirrored, clear background fields.

On the obverse of 1/4 oz Proof Gold Eagles is the image of Lady Liberty created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907 for the $20 Gold Double Eagle circulation coin. The reverse of 1/4 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Coins has a unique design of an American bald eagle family that was created by Miley Busiek.

Silver.com offers these 1/4 oz Proof Gold Eagles as a random allotment. We select your coins at random once your payment has been processed. We cannot guarantee a specific date mark on your coin or hand pick separate date marks if you buy multiple coins.

There are variations in the inscriptions and date marks you should be aware of when buying random 1/4 oz Proof Gold Eagles. First, the US Mint used Roman numerals for date marks on all Gold American Eagle coins from 1986 to 1991 and Arabic numerals for all coins issued from 1992 to the present. Regarding 1/4 oz Proof Gold Eagles specifically, you’ll notice “P” mint marks from the Philadelphia Mint on coins dated 1988 to 1993, and “W” mint marks from the West Point Mint on coins dated 1994 and later.
