Round Highlights:

  • Rounds ship inside of a protective plastic capsule and feature a Certificate of Authenticity!
  • Third round issued in the American Legacy Collection of silver!
  • Mintage limited to 10,000 rounds only!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .999 fine silver.
  • The obverse depicts President Abraham Lincoln in right-profile relief on a domed surface.
  • On the reverse is President Lincoln in left-profile relief on a sunken design field.
  • Unique serial numbers on the edge.
  • Inspired by the design of Victor D. Brennan in 1909.

In January 1909, Victor D. Brennan was approached by the US Mint to come up with a bust of President Abraham Lincoln for the US penny. Originally, the mint had considered a design from Augustus Saint-Gaudens. However, Saint-Gaudens died suddenly in 1907 before his penny design could be adapted for production.

Brennan’s design of President Abraham Lincoln was eventually placed on the US penny in 1909 to mark the 100th anniversary of his birth. The Brennan bust of Lincoln on the obverse of the penny is the longest-running single design on any US denomination, though the Washington Quarter obverse and reverse combination is the longest-running collective design having featured on the 25-cent piece since 1932.

The obverse of these 1 oz Antique Silver Domed American Legacy Lincoln Penny Rounds features the right-profile bust of President Abraham Lincoln. The man who preserved the Union and led the North through the Civil War is depicted in a stoic portrait. The domed surface on this side of the round brings his image to life with his hear, beard, and facial features leaping from the surface of the rounds.

On the reverse of Antique Silver Domed American Legacy Lincoln Penny Rounds, the same portrait is featured. On this side though, the surface of the round is sunk and Lincoln’s bust is struck into that sunken field in left-profile relief this time.

These 1 oz Antique Silver Domed American Legacy Lincoln Penny Rounds ship with a protective plastic capsule custom-fitted to the domed shape of the round. The rounds come with a unique serial number etched on the edge and a matching, numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Antique silver rounds have a polished, matte visual similar to ancient coins.
