The Finding Silverbug Island series of silver rounds for sale debuted from the North American Mint in 2015. The robust collection offered a variety of different designs tracking the journeys of silver enthusiasts in their search for the lustrous silver metal. The first design in the series set the stage for a collection of 1 oz rounds available in BU, proof, and antique options. The 1 oz Antique Silver Finding Silverbug Island Round is now available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

Round Highlights:

  • Round ships to you inside of a protective plastic capsule!
  • First design released in the Finding Silverbug Island collection!
  • Mintage limited to 2,000 silver rounds only!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .999 fine silver.
  • The obverse includes a ship sailing on calm waters in search of Silverbug Island.
  • On the reverse you see the shipwreck of those who have gotten close, but failed in their quest for the island’s riches.
  • Antique polish!

In the Finding Silverbug Island collection, the North American mint offered three versions of each design. The two collectible options had lower mintage figures, with the 1 oz antique silver round offering the lowest mintage at just 2,000 rounds per design. The BU and proof versions had higher mintage figures, but still well below that of major coin programs.

The Silverbug silver rounds from the North American Mint expanded beyond just the Finding Silverbug Island Series. In fact, this series was the second from the mint behind the Silver Fairies collection. A silver fairy is the primary symbol of the Silverbugs Reddit community and featured on a series that launched just before the Silverbug Island collection.

On the obverse of Antique Silver Finding Silverbug Island Rounds is a depiction of a large ship sailing on the open ocean waters. The seas are calm as this ship moves along. There is a compass depicted in the background field with clouds floating back in the sky above. The sails of the ship bear the motto of the Silverbugs: “In Silver We Trust.” You will also notice a scarab beetle on one of the sails.

The reverse of 1 oz Antique Silver Finding Silverbug Island Rounds includes the image of Silverbug Island. The hard-to-find island has its wealth on full display as two separate landmasses of silver coins emerge from the water. Ships are wrecked in the foreground having failed to reach the islands in one piece.

These 1 oz Antique Silver Finding Silverbug Island Rounds are housed inside of protective plastic capsules and come with an antique polish. The antique appearance makes the rounds look like ancient coins even though each is a brand-new product.
