Anonymous Mint issues the silver rounds of the Lisa Parker Collection using a micro-mintage. The 750 1 oz colorized proof rounds represents the joint-highest mintage in the series along with the 1 oz proof silver round. The 1 oz antique and all three matching versions in the 5 oz silver round issue have a mintage of just 250 silver rounds.
On the obverse of 1 oz Colorized Proof Lisa Parker Collection Apache Rounds is the image of two horses in a field near the base of a mountain. The adult horse and young colt or mare stand close together with the younger horse huddled beneath the head and neck of the adult. The adult horse has feathers in its mane and two zig-zag lines on its body. This war paint design is often put on horses before battle to honor indigenous war gods.
The reverse of 1 oz Silver Lisa Parker Collection Apache Rounds features the common design for the series. This wolf’s head in front-facing relief is known as Wild One and includes a five-pointed star behind the head with barren trees framing the design. Lisa Parker’s works are all originally created using watercolors and always feature a mixture of the natural world and mystical elements.
Anonymous Mint’s Julie Lindquist selected the six designs for this series, with Italian Master Sculptor Luigi Badia hand-sculpting the dies used in the production process. The Osborne Mint, America’s oldest private mint, handled the coining process.
