Just how does a magical fellow like Santa Claus get around the world in one night delivering toys on Christmas Eve? Well, with the help of a team of flying reindeer of course! Tales of Santa’s reindeer stretch back to 1823 when his team was first mentioned in a poem. The 20th century brought about a ninth reindeer in the form of that plucky, lovable Rudolph character. 1 oz Copper Cartoon Rudolph Rounds are now available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

In the 1823 poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas,” we learn the names of the eight reindeer that pull Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve as he visits the children of the world. Commonly known as “The Night Before Christmas,” this poem identifies Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen as the primary members of Santa’s reindeer team.
Fast forward to 1939 and a ninth member of the team was added. In a booklet produced for Montgomery Ward by Robert L. May, the red-nosed reindeer known as Rudolph is introduced as the ninth member of the team. Outcast for his shiny red nose, Rudolph will actually come to save the day on a dreary Christmas Eve one year and earn the respect of his peers. To this day, he is the most well-known reindeer from Santa’s team.
The obverse face of 1 oz Copper Cartoon Rudolph Rounds includes the image of a small dog dressed as Rudolph. This little chap wears a winter cap with antlers on it and his snout sticks out just beyond his collar where a bell rests.
On the reverse side of the Copper Cartoon Rudolph Round is the image of various snowflakes. Just as no two snowflakes in real life are exactly the same, so too are each of these snowflakes a little bit different from the others falling around them.
These 1 oz Copper Cartoon Rudolph Rounds are available to you with individual protective plastic flips, mint tubes of 20 rounds, and mint-strapped boxes of 500 rounds. Each copper round is in brand-new condition with frosted satin elements and delicately polished background surfaces.
