The Nordic Creatures Series from the Anonymous Mint and lead coin designer Julie Lindquist captures images of some of the most famous beasts from Norse mythology. The designs were initially offered on 1 oz silver rounds and now make a debut on 1 oz copper rounds. After the release of the Dragon Nidhogger helped launch the series, the mint moved on to the Frost Giant.

Giants were some of the first creatures mentioned in Norse mythology and are often considered to be extremely primitive animals. Connecting humanity with the various beasts of the world is The World Tree. Its three massive root systems cover the world and extend over Hel and Niflheim, the land of the giants, and the realm of humanity under the third.

The obverse of 1 oz Copper Nordic Creatures Frost Giant Rounds features the fearsome Frost Giant. In Norse mythology, giants were said to have the power to create mountains, form lakes, and even move the location of islands. In this design for the Nordic Creatures Series, the Frost Giant is seen with a large club in one hand as it wreaks havoc in the countryside. It has stolen a cow and is even making off with several kegs of ale.

On the reverse side of Copper Nordic Creatures Frost Giant Rounds is an image of The World Tree. Featured on all rounds in the series, The World Tree is also known as Yggdrasil. This is the place where the gods of Norse mythology will gather each day to determine what is just and unjust for the world. The rainbow bridge near The World Tree is said to connect to Asgard, the home of the gods.

These 1 oz Copper Nordic Creatures Frost Giant Rounds are available with individual plastic flips. Multiples ship in plastic tubes of 20 or boxes of 500 rounds. The box holds a total of 25 individual tubes. All rounds are in new condition from the mint.
