Few people understand the social online community that is Reddit, but here you’ll find one of the more unique group of precious metal enthusiasts. Silverbug community members have contributed to the production of the Silverbug silver rounds by designing the images used on rounds from both series currently available.
In the initial Silverbug series, there were three different round designs introduced that merely celebrated the Silverbug community. This all-new series will consist of eight new designs in total, with each focusing on the theme of Finding Silverbug Island.
On the obverse of each round is the pirate-themed design that will feature heavily in Finding Silverbug Island rounds. With a compass dominating the background and its cloudy skies, a pirate ship sails into view with “In Silver We Trust” engraved on the sails. A small island is featured in the foreground with a large, open treasure chest resting next to an X on the ground.
The reverse of all 1 oz Silver Proof Finding Silverbug Island Rounds features a pirate ship without sails that has come to rest on an island of coins. Above it is the phrase “Welcome to Silverbug Island,” and the weight, purity, and metal content of the round are featured below.
Each of these 1 oz Finding Silverbug Island Rounds is struck in a proof version, with mirror-like finishes on both sides. Struck at the North American Mint, the plan is to produce rounds in this series in Brilliant Uncirculated and antique versions in addition to these brilliant proof rounds.
