The most popular weight for investors looking to buy gold is the 1 oz gold bar. Offered by nearly all mints that produce gold bars, 1 oz gold is popular because it offers a great balance between spot price premiums and actual weight received. You can buy 1 oz gold bars brand new or get secondary market items that come with even lower premiums. Now, 1 oz Gold Bars are available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

Bar Highlights:

  • Bar ships to you in Assays!
  • Available from various mints!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of at least .999 fine gold.
  • On the obverse and reverse side are varying designs chosen by the mint of origin.
  • Please keep in mind that you can receive several matching bars if you buy more than one and the Assays may or may not be damaged.

The largest mints and refineries around the globe churn out 1 oz Gold Bars on a regular basis for investors seeking the coveted yellow metal. As an example of just some of the mints whose products you might receive in this listing are highly-respected facilities such as the Royal Canadian Mint, Perth Mint, PAMP Suisse, Valcambi Suisse, and Credit Suisse.

Each one of these mints produces 1 oz Gold Bars in various forms, including the popular minted ingot. A minted ingot starts out as a singular long cast gold bar that is fed into a stamping press. The computer-controlled press cuts each bar to a precise size and shape ensuring 1 Troy oz of gold is contained within. The stamped out bars are then engraved with designs.

On the obverse and reverse side of the 1 oz Gold Bars in this listing are designs that are chosen by the mint of origin and dependent on the program of release. As an example, PAMP Suisse offers 1 oz Gold Bars in its popular Fortuna and Rosa collections. The obverse of the Fortuna bars includes a popular depiction of the goddess of fortune, while the Rosa bars include a single rose stem on the obverse side of the bar.

The reverse of most bars will feature a mint logo in a repeating design element. Examples of bars that use this approach are Royal Canadian Mint 1 oz Gold Bars and Perth Mint 1 oz Gold Bars. The reverse of a Royal Canadian Mint bar has a repeating maple leaf from the mint logo, while the Perth Mint bar has the repeating image of a leaping kangaroo.

These 1 oz Gold Bars are available in Assays. Each one is a secondary market bar that could be in new condition or show varying levels of wear and tear. A secondary market bar is one that Silver.com did not receive directly from the mint of origin. Each bar is chosen at random once your payment is processed and we cannot guarantee the condition of your specific bar or its design. If you purchase more than one, you could receive matching items.

We also never have access to your credit/debit card details, as they are securely communicated directly to the payment processor (Authorize.net) and never retained by Silver.com. For this reason, we also don't process credit/debit card orders over the phone, as it is the least secure way to process those transactions.

In addition, all VISA and MasterCard orders undergo an additional step of user authentication - the respective Verified by VISA or MasterCard SecureCode programs. Upon completing checkout with a VISA or MasterCard credit/debit card, you may be promoted for additional details to confirm your identity and protect our customers against credit card fraud.

Do you charge sales tax?

We are required to collect sales tax in certain states. You can review your states sales tax policy here: https://www.silver.com/taxes. You should always consult with a tax adviser for specific advice in your area.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
