When the Gold Maple Leaf first entered the realm of precious metals, it faced a solitary competitor in the gold bullion coin market. Over the years, however, this coin has solidified its standing as an unrivaled powerhouse. Notably, the initial releases in this series are distinguished by their employment of .999 pure gold, setting them apart from the standard 24-karat gold compositions. Today, 1 oz Gold Canadian Maple Leaf Tubes with 1979-1982 date marks are available to you online at Silver.com.

Coin Tube Highlights:

  • Available to you inside plastic tubes of 10 coins!
  • Comes with random date marks!
  • Possible dates limited to 1979 to 1982!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .999 fine gold per coin.
  • The individual face values of $50 (CAD) are fully backed by the Canadian government.
  • On the obverse is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
  • The reverse depicts the sugar maple leaf.
  • Please keep in mind the date marks may vary or match in the tube.

With the debut of the Gold Maple Leaf in 1979, the Gold South African Krugerrand finally had a challenger. While the original Maple Leafs issued from 1979 to 1982 had a greater fineness than Krugerrands, .999 fineness compared to .9167 fineness, it wasn’t until November 1982 that Gold Maple Leafs gained the 24-karat gold content we know today.

The assortment offered here includes a 1 oz Gold Canadian Maple Leaf Tube containing a grand total of 10 coins. It’s important to note that although all the coins in this tube will bear dates ranging from 1979 to 1982, there is no assurance of receiving a complete set of matching date marks or a diverse selection of date marks from within the specified range.

The Gold Canadian Maple Leafs showcase obverse designs that portray Queen Elizabeth II. These designs present the Queen at the age of 39 and were skillfully crafted by Arnold Machin in 1965. It is worth noting that these portraits represent the second-generation depiction of Her Majesty during her illustrious reign.

The reverse side of the 1 oz Gold Maple Leaf coins showcases the iconic national emblem of Canada—the sugar maple leaf. This meticulously detailed design, created by Walter Ott specifically for the Maple Leaf Series, first made its appearance in 1979.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
