If you’re buying gold bars online, Silver.com has a new option for you from one of the world’s foremost names in gold bullion. South Africa’s Rand Refinery, already well-known for the Gold South African Krugerrands, has gold bullion minted ingots and cast bars it offers to investors as well. Today, 1 oz Gold Rand Refinery Bars are available to you online at Silver.com with sealed assay cards.

Bar Highlights:

  • Available to ship to you inside of a protective assay card pack!
  • Among the larger minted ingots from the Rand Refinery!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .9999 fine gold.
  • The obverse includes the refinery logo with weight, purity, and metal content included.
  • On the reverse are marching elephants in a repeating pattern.
  • Unique serial numbers on each bar.

The Rand Refinery does not mine the gold it refines in South Africa. Founded in 1920, its primary function is to act as an agent for gold producers by refining, marketing, and selling gold bullion products. The Rand Refinery is among the largest single-site precious metals refiners and smelters in the world.

All of these 1 oz Gold Rand Refinery Bars are available to you individually with a sealed black assay card. The card has two sides to its design, with the Rand Refinery name and logo on one side with the phrase “Rand Secure,” and identifying features of the individual gold bar printed on the other side of the card. The packaging puts the gold bar in a capsule at the center with the black assay card surrounding it inside of the secure pack.

The obverse face of the 1 oz Gold Rand Refinery Bar includes a variety of inscriptions identifying the bar by its weight, purity, and metal content. Each bar has its designs inscribed down the vertical face of the bar, starting with the Rand Refinery logo at the top with the full company name below it. This is followed by two markings of the metal content as both “Au” and “Fine Gold.” The weight and purity are also featured, with the unique serial number inscribed at the bottom. The refinery uses two letters and six numbers in each code, with all codes starting “RR” for Rand Refinery.

On the reverse side of Gold Rand Refinery Bars is the African elephant. This lovable design showcases the maternal nature of elephant packs as a mother leads her young calf along in a march. The young calf uses its trunk to stay connected to mom’s tail. The scientific name for the African elephant, “Loxodonta,” is inscribed at the bottom of the bar.
