On the obverse side of this copper round is the familiar design of Lady Liberty made famous by Adolph A. Weinman. The portrait is in profile and Lady Liberty wears a winged hat. This is the same winged hat that was worn by the winged messenger Mercury, one of the major deities of Ancient Rome. This variation of Lady Liberty shows her boasting a confident and composed expression. Her fine features are also quite prominent. Her head is surrounded by the phrase, “LIBERTY.”
The opposite side has a shield that is intricately designed. It shows the classic American eagle with outstretched wings and a shield featuring the stripes and stars of the American flag. An actual American flag is situated above the wings of the eagle, waving in the wind. A rope surrounds the scene and the phrase “COPPER .999 FINE” is engraved above, and “ONE AVDP OUNCE” is shown below. There are also three stars on either side of the round.
Upon ordering the 1 oz Mercury Dime Copper Rounds, they will be handled delicately and shipped with safety and security in mind.
