If you have been following the popular Hobo Nickel Silver Round series, you will be interested in the final release of the series. The final round in this series was designed by Mr. The and crafted by master sculptor Luigi Badia. The 1 oz Proof Silver Jefferson Skull Rounds are now available at Silver.com.

Round Highlights:

  • Arrives in a protective capsule with Certificate of Authenticity.
  • Mintage limited to 10,000 rounds only.
  • Fifth and final design from Silver Hobo Nickel Series.
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .999 fine silver.
  • Obverse features the image Thomas Jefferson reworked into a skull design.

The hobo subculture dates back to the early 18th century. It was most common in the 19th and 20th centuries in the United States, however. As these vagabonds travelled across the country, they would carve designs on to pre-existing US coins. They called these designs “enrichments.” The silver rounds in this series are a new take on this subculture.

The rounds in the Hobo Nickel series were designed by Mr. The, an Italian-born designer whose real name is Paolo Curcio. Curcio now lives in Spain and is a well-known artist in the numismatist world. He designed all five rounds in this series. Master sculptor Luigi Badia from Italy sculpted each of the rounds for Osborne Precious Metals to mint.

On the obverse of these silver rounds, you will see Mr. The’s take on the 2005 Westward Journey design for commemorative Jefferson nickels. Instead of Thomas Jefferson’s face, there is a right-profile view of a skull. The engravings on this round are the same as would be found on the actual Jefferson nickel; they read, “In God We Trust,” “Liberty,” and “2005.”

On the reverse, you will find a design that mimics the Buffalo Nickel that James Earle Fraser designed. The design is a combination of the Mini-Man and Train designs from 2014. You will see the hobo standing in the foreground with his belongings and a train in the background.

All of these rounds also have edge letting that displays a serial number and the round’s weight, purity and metal content. A Certificate of Authenticity, which matching serial number, will come with the round. Each round will arrive in a protective plastic capsule.

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
