The Silver Eagles from the United States Mint come in three versions each year. All three options in the collection come with 1 oz silver and are available, with few exceptions, on an annual basis. When it comes to the BU Silver Eagle, the US Mint is Congressionally mandated to strike the coins each year to meet demand. As such, there are no missing date marks in the BU Series. Right now, 1 oz Silver American Eagle Tubes with 20 coins are available to purchase online from Silver.com.

Please keep in mind that each individual tube will feature 20 coins from the same date mark. There are no tubes with mixed date marks inside. You might, however, receive tubes with different sets of date marks. For example, a tube of 2011 Silver Eagles and a tube of 2013 Silver Eagles.

On the obverse side of 1 oz Silver American Eagles in this 20-coin tube, you will find an image of Walking Liberty. Designed in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, this beautiful vision of Liberty was first used on American coins on the US half dollar from 1916 to 1947. It depicts Liberty’s full-length figure in left-profile relief as she walks toward the sun on the horizon with her right hand extended, her left carrying branches of oak and laurel, and the American flag draped around her figure.

The reverse field of the Silver American Eagles in these 20-coin tubes comes with the original design from John Mercanti. Used on all Type 1 coins in the series from 1986 to mid-2021, the design shows the American bald eagle in front-facing relief with its wings spread and 13 stars over its head. The eagle supports the US national shield while clutching the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons.
