From the moment American and European settlers moved west of the Appalachian Mountains, the Wild West Era began. As these individuals moved westward, they ran into conflict at every turn. If it wasn’t settlers clashing with Native Americans, it was lawless individuals trying to take advantage of a lack of law enforcement coverage.
In the first release of the American Western Skulls Collection you’ll find the image of an Indian Chief skull. The design captures the haunting results of the typical clashes that took place in the American West, while also featuring iconic imagery associated with Native American tribes. Each round is sealed in protective plastic and bears an antique finish.
The 1 oz Antique Silver American Western Skulls Indian Chief Round has a stunning finish. The antique polish applied to the rounds brings the visual brilliance of an ancient coin, while also highlighting the intricate details in the design of the silver round itself.
On the obverse of the Silver American Western Skulls Indian Chief Round is the fearsome image of an Indian Chief. The skeletal figure has no flesh, only eyes in the sockets of its otherwise empty face. There are engravings on this side of “Liberty” and “2017,” along with a pair of tomahawks featured below the design.
The reverse of the 1 oz Antique Silver American Western Skulls Indian Chief Round is the heraldic eagle of the United States. It features the bald eagle behind the nation’s heraldic shield, with arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other. There’s something different about this bird though. With no feathers on its frame at all, the fried eagle featured here fits the haunting appeal of the series.
