The Australian continent harbors some of the most unique and amazing animal species in the world. The deadly crocodile roams its waterways; the calm koala lazes in its trees; and the kangaroo hops effortlessly across the Outback. The Silver Australian Kangaroo is an all-new silver bullion series from the Perth Mint. Today, the 1 oz Silver Australian Kangaroo Coin is available to you online at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Ships to you in protective plastic.
  • Two years of issue available!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .999 or .9999 fine silver.
  • Face value of $1 (AUD) is fully backed by Australia’s government.
  • Features the continent’s native marsupial, the kangaroo, on the reverse.
  • Obverse includes Queen Elizabeth II’s effigy.

Perth Mint started a craze in 1990 when it released the Silver Australian Kookaburra. This silver bullion coin started a trend of popular programs from the mint that featured native species from the continent, with new designs on the reverse each year. This was followed by the Lunar Series I, Silver Australian Koala, and Lunar Series II programs.

Australian Kangaroo silver bullion coins are the latest edition to the silver bullion lineup from Perth Mint. Like previous coins, these new products will feature a different design on the reverse each year, driving collectability for these coins higher. However, the Silver Australian Kangaroo is the first silver coin from the Perth Mint to ever feature .9999 fine silver.

In this product listing, you have a chance to purchase 1 oz Silver Australian Kangaroo coins  with various year-of-issue marks available. Silver.com cannot guarantee the condition or year of issue on your coins, as the coins are not selected until your order is processed for shipping. Availability at this point determines the condition and date mark of your coin. Please note that coins in this listing with a date mark of 2016 or newer will feature .9999 fine silver content, while older issues produced in 2015 or earlier bear .999 fine silver content.

On the reverse of the 1 oz Silver Australian Kangaroo is the image of the red kangaroo hopping across the Outback, with radiating lines from the background meant to depict the rays of the sun. Male kangaroos use their powerful hind legs for more than movement, as they often fight with other males over female mates by leaning back on their tails and boxing one another with their legs.

The obverse of the Silver Australian Kangaroo coin includes the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This particular effigy of Her Majesty is a 1998 creation by Ian Rank-Broadley, and it represents the fourth-generation portrait of the Queen to appear on commonwealth coinage since her ascension to the throne of England in 1952.

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
