When the Perth Mint introduced the Silver Australian Kookaburra in 1990, it was available with .999 fine silver content. This continued in the series through 2017. The debut of the Silver Australian Kangaroo in 2016 brought the first .9999 fine silver bullion coin to Perth’s annual release schedule. In 2018, the Silver Australian Kookaburra was issued for the first time in .9999 fine silver.

While the Silver Kookaburras were not the first silver coins from the Perth Mint to feature .9999 fine silver, the coins were the first silver bullion coins with a native animal species on the reverse in a new design element each year. The served as the backbone for all coins to come in the future, such as the Silver Koala and the Silver Wedge Tail Eagle.

Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the obverse field of 1 oz Silver Australian Kookaburras. Her Majesty’s effigy is always in right-profile relief, but has been modified twice since the debut of the Kookaburra in 1990. From 1990 to 1998, the coins featured Raphael Maklouf’s bust of the Queen. Coins struck from 1999 to 2018 feature Ian Rank-Broadley’s bust of the Queen. All coins produced from 2019 onward have Jody Clark’s image of Her Majesty.

Kookaburras feature on the reverse face of 1 oz Silver Australian Kookaburras. The design of the bird featured on this side of the coin changes each year and has never repeated. Only the 2020 coin featured a repeat design as the 30th-anniversary release offered the 1990 design of the kookaburra again, but it was featured on the obverse along with Queen Elizabeth II.

These 1 oz Silver Australian Kookaburras are near-perfect specimens. Coins in Mint State 69 condition showcase full, original mint luster with no more than two minor detracting flaws. Acceptable flaws at this level include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines that must be located outside of the primary focal points of the coin.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
