Now on its sixth iteration, the Silver Molon Labe Rounds show a different stage of the battle between the Greek Army, led by Sparta and King Leonidas, and the Persian Army of Xerxes I. The king of the Achaemenid Empire, Xerxes led an army that was believed to number around 150,000 soldiers against Leonidas and some 7,000 Greeks. King Leonidas brought to the battle some 300 of his elite Spartan warriors, whose legend lives on to this day for the sacrifice they gave in the effort to slow down the Persian advance.

The obverse side of Silver Molon Labe Rounds features a depiction of a Spartan warrior riding into battle. This figure is shown atop a powerful steed as he charges into the lines of the Persian Army. With a spear in hand, he slays the first Persian he comes upon as his fellow Spartans are charging in on foot behind him.
On the reverse face of 1 oz Silver Molon Labe Rounds, you will find the common design element for several Intaglio Mint round collections. This design element features the mint logo at the very center with a Romanesque column in the shape of an I. The background field has swirling radial lines with inscriptions around the edge of the field that include the weight, purity, and metal content, as well as the date mark in Roman numerals.
