The bluebonnet offers a peaceful image of an otherwise rough-and-tumble state, and features on the round as the official state flower. The Texas Capitol Building was constructed of sunset red granite which gives it is distinctive appearance. Finally, Texas wouldn’t be the symbol of the West that it has been without cowboys.
On the reverse of the 1 oz Silver Texas Mint rounds you’ll find the Texas Cowboy Monument featured prominently in the foreground of the design. The statue itself was placed on Capitol grounds in 1925, and is joined on this face of the round by the Capitol building in the background and bluebonnets on the right-hand side.
The obverse of the Silver Texas Mint Round includes the image of the state of Texas, with a massive Lone Star the size of Texas featured over the outline of the state. Engravings identify the producer of the round and the year of issue.
