There are many symbols of American pride, power, and sacrifice visible across the country and around the world. Above all of those symbols, one common image is found: the American flag. Known by many nicknames, from “Union” to “the Stars and Stripes,” the American flag represents American ideals and values wherever it flies. Now, it is available on the unique 1 oz Sunshine Mint Silver American Flag bar courtesy of Silver.com.

Bar Highlights:

  • Consists of one ounce of .999 fine silver.
  • Contrasting matte and deeply-mirrored finishes.
  • Unique bar shape resembles a flag flying in the wind. Note – the bar lays flat on a table.
  • Struck by the Sunshine Mint with MintMark SI authentication.
  • Individual bars ship in sealed plastic pouches, quantities of 12 bars ship in mint plastic sheets.

“The Red, White, & Blue” has flown over the nation of America since it was officially adopted on June 14, 1777 as the national flag and ensign of the newly-formed United States. America’s original flag design was not much different than the version that flies across the nation today.

While Betsy Ross is commonly viewed as the designer of the nation’s first flag, it was actually naval flag designer Francis Hopkinson of New Jersey that gave the nation its first flag. Ross’ design featured 13 stars in a circle, while Hopkinson’s flag had the stars arranged in alternating rows of three and two.

On the reverse side of the 1 oz Sunshine Mint Silver American Flag Bar you’ll find muted design features. The middle of the bar features a stamped mint mark that reads “Mint Mark SI.” The Sunshine Mint logo and corporate name are engraved below that, with the bar’s weight, purity, and metal content along the bottom.

The obverse side of the bar features the “Star-Spangled Banner” in all of its glory. The white stripes and blue background field of the bar are featured in a matte silver, giving them a rough appearance. The red stripes and white stars of the flag are finished with a deeply-mirrored black enamel that creates a stark contrast between the two design sets.

Sunshine Mint is a leading private mint in the United States. From its headquarters it Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, the mint produces remarkable products and high quality blanks used by sovereign mints around the globe.

  1. These flags are better than they look on the web. The polished stripes and stars are in high contrast to the unpolished parts. Also, Silver.com is super fast to ship. I have received orders in as little as two days. Other sites sometimes take weeks to ship items they have in stock.
