Every state fancies its capitol building as one of the most beautiful and unique in its territory. For the people of Texas, this sentiment is no different. Billed as the Seventh Largest Building in the World when it was completed in 1888, the Texas State Capitol is a government building worthy of a state that once operated as an independent nation before joining the United States. Right now, the 10 oz Silver Texas Mint Bar captures the beauty of the capitol building and is available to purchase online at Silver.com.
- Each bar arrives individually sealed in plastic.
- A product of the Texas Mint!
- Consists of Ten Troy ounces of .9999 fine silver.

- Reverse features the outline of Texas in a repeating pattern.
The first Texas Capitol building was a humble structure built for the Republic of Texas in 1836. By 1853, Texas had a much larger and impressive capitol building standing on the grounds of the current capitol in the city of Austin, Texas. However, the great capitol fire of 1888 destroyed the state’s second capitol building.
Luckily for Texans, the state had plans for a newer, larger building. The modern Texas Capitol building stands an imposing 302.64 feet tall, which ranks sixth tallest among state capitols in the US and 15 feet taller than the US Capitol Building in Washington DC. The building was constructed largely of Oak Hill limestone, but the unique pink hue of the exterior to the building comes courtesy of the sunset red granite that was used to cover the façade.
The beauty of the Texas Capitol is captured in various products from the Texas Mint, including a series of silver rounds and these Silver Texas Mint Bars. Also available in 1 oz silver and 100 oz silver options, these 10 oz Silver Texas Mint Bars offer .9999 fine silver content to any investors or proud resident of the Lone Star State.
On the reverse of the bar you’ll find a humble pattern. It includes only the repeating image in horizontal lines of the outline of Texas, a trademarked silhouette representing the breadth and depth of the Lone Star State.
The obverse of the 10 oz Silver Texas Mint Bar features a beautiful representation of the interior dome structure of the Texas Capitol Building. Walk into the rotunda on the main floor and turn your eyes upwards, and you’ll see a series of concentric panels that converge in ever smaller shapes toward the center of the dome, where an 8-foot Lone Star of Texas completes the impressive imagery.
Also included on this face of the design are the weight, purity, and metal content of the bar. There’s also another silhouette of the state of Texas on this side, complete with the trademark symbol.
