One of the newest collections of silver bars for sale celebrates the rugged determination of the horses and riders in the Pony Express. In operation for just 18 months in the early 1860s, the Pony Express sought to connect the growing territories around California to the East Coast of the United States with faster mail and parcel delivery. The adventurous spirit of the Pony Express is captured in a series of cast silver bars from SilverTowne. Today, 10 oz SilverTowne Silver Pony Bars are available to you online at Silver.com.

The Pony Express was established on April 3, 1860. The expressed goal of the Pony Express was to cut down the time it took to move mail, parcels, and other small deliveries between Missouri and California. Missouri was, at the time, the easternmost point in the US still efficiently connected to the major cities of the East Coast. The network consisted of 186 stations stretched out 10 miles apart from one another between Missouri and California.
All of the 10 oz SilverTowne Silver Pony Bars offered here are brand-new specimens from SilverTowne. The 10 oz silver bar joins the 1 kilo and 100 oz silver bars in the Pony Express collection as the smallest format available to date in the cast silver bars series. Each of the bars in this listing comes with individual plastic sleeves and arrives in a standard shipping box.
On the obverse of 10 oz SilverTowne Silver Pony Bars is a depiction of a rider from the Pony Express. This rugged individual is racing across the wide-open American West toward his destination with valuable parcels in tow. The Pony Express rider is featured on the left side of the design field just above the SilverTowne mint mark. On the right side of the design field, you will find the weight, metal content, and purity of the bar stamped into its surface. Silver Pony Bars from SilverTowne have incuse design elements that have been struck into the surface of the bar.
The reverse face of the 10 oz Silver Pony Bar has been left blank on purpose. Although this face of the bar is devoid of stamped designs or inscriptions, it is not without its own natural visuals. Cast silver bars often showcase natural textures, striations, and other lines or forms as a result of the silver settling as it cools after the casting process.
