Istanbul Gold Refinery was launched in 1996, but it would take six years for its first bars to enter regular production. The first, and still largest, gold bar from the refinery is its 1000 Gram cast gold bar. Initially, only these cast bars had .9999 fine gold content. In 2004, the refinery was ready with its first minted ingots.
The 100 Gram Gold Istanbul Gold Refinery Bar is an example of one of the many minted ingots available from IGR. This is the largest minted ingot and features .9999 fine gold, though when the minted ingots were first released each one included .995 fine gold content. IGR has worked hard to boost the purity levels in its minted ingots and improve security features for its packaging as well.
On the obverse of the 100 Gram Gold Istanbul Gold Refinery Bar, you’ll find a selection of design elements. These elements include the IGR initials at the top. In the middle of the design field, you’ll find “100 G,” “Fine Gold,” and “999.9” marked on the bar. Below this are the IGR corporate logo and the individual serial number assigned to the bar.
The reverse field of the 100 Gram Gold Istanbul Gold Refinery Bar features a simplistic, repeating pattern. The only design element on this side of the bar is the initials of “IGR” set at a 45-degree angle and repeated enough times to fill the design field.
All 100 Gram Gold Istanbul Gold Refinery Bars are packaged inside of tamper-evident assay cards. The included assay card features the signature of a certified assayer, a hologram at the bottom with the IGR logo contained within, and two security marks which are visible only when the card is exposed to UV lights.
