As Queen Elizabeth II made her way to the doors of Westminster Abbey in 1953 for her official coronation ceremony as Queen of England, she was greeted by 10 personalized heraldic beast statues. Royal sculptor, Sir James Woodford, had tediously created 10 beasts statues that reflected the rich genealogy of the woman about to take the title official as Queen of England. Today, the 100 oz Antique Silver Queen’s Beast 10-Statue Set is available to you online at Silver.com.

From the Lion of England introduced into the first official Royal Arms by King Richard I in 1198 to the White Horse of Hanover that came to the throne with King George I in 1714, these heraldic beasts represent the many houses and individuals that have control the crown of England over nearly a millennium.

All of the 100 oz Antique Silver Queen’s Beast 10-Statue Sets available in this product listing come to you with protective packaging materials wrapped around each bar. The bars are shipped together in cardboard boxes and come with a unique Certificate of Authenticity. The COA booklet not only authenticates the set, it also provides detailed information on each of the Queen’s Beasts included in the set.

Each statue consists of 10 Troy ounces of sterling silver, a silver purity level that equates to 92.5% silver in the statue. A unique serial number and the statue’s weight are inscribed on the base of each one.

This set includes all of the major statues featured in coin designs in the Queen’s Beast Series from the Royal Mint, a series that was itself based on the statues carved by Sir James Woodford in the fall of 1952. In this silver statue set, you will receive the venerable Lion of England, along with the Griffin of Edward III, the Red Dragon of Wales, the Unicorn of Scotland, the Yale of Beaufort, the Black Bull of Clarence, the Falcon of the Plantagenets, the White Horse of Hanover, the White Lion of Mortimer, and the White Greyhound of Richmond. Each heraldic beast supports a shield reflecting either a monarch’s personal badge or the Royal Arms of England as used by the monarch the beast represents.
