The previously issued ½ coin was replaced by the 15 Gram Gold Panda. Silver.com offers these coins with a date mark from 2016 onward. 15 Gram Gold Panda coins have only one slight change from the ½ oz Gold Panda issued from 1982 to 2015. The ½ oz coin had a precise weight in Grams of 15.5515 Grams and a diameter of 27 mm. The newer 15 Gram Gold Panda coin has the same diameter, but a slightly lighter weight at exactly 15 Grams of gold content.
On the reverse of the 15 Gram Gold Chinese Panda Coin, you’ll find a new design of the Giant Panda with each new release. The Chinese Mint has used a different depiction of the unofficial symbol of China in each year during the release series.
The obverse of the 15 Gram Gold Panda Coins features the same design each year. The Temple of Heaven’s Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests is depicted on this side along with the year of issue and nation of issue engravings.
