Copper is unique among other metals because as a native metal it is directly usable in its natural metallic form. As a result, human civilizations were able to work with copper long before gold and silver. There is evidence of human use of copper in several regions around the world as far back as 10,000 years ago. Copper would go on to set a number of other firsts in human civilization, including the first metal to be smelted (8,000 years ago), the first metal cast into shapes (6,000 years ago), and the first metal purposely alloyed with another (5,500 years ago).
All of these 16 oz Copper Crackers are available to you today with a brilliant design concept. The Copper Cracker presents as a single 16 AVDP ounce copper bar. However, you will immediately notice that the copper bar is actually 16 individual 1 ounce bars connected together. That connection point is made from thinner layers of copper and can easily be “cracked” to separate the copper bars into whatever amounts you need. You can make 16 individual 1 ounce bars, four separate 4 ounce bars, or even two separate 8 ounce bars. All 16 oz Copper Crackers will ship inside of standard shipping boxes with protective materials around the bar.
The obverse face of the 16 oz Copper Crackers includes individual designs for each of the 16 specimens. At the top of each bar are the words “Copper Crackers,” with “1 oz. 999 Pure Copper” below that. The “OM” mint mark of the Osborne Mint is featured with the “O” above the “M.” Finally, you will find the words “Osborne Mint” at the bottom of the bar. There are no markings on the reverse of the bar as it is left blank on purpose. All bars have smooth edges.
