The Draped Bust Silver Dollar was minted by the United States from 1795 to 1804 and is considered one of the foundational coins of early American currency. Designed by Robert Scot, the coin features a graceful image of Liberty with flowing hair and a draped bust on the obverse. In 1798, the series adopted a new heraldic eagle reverse, replacing the earlier small eagle design. Collectors can now find the 1800 Draped Bust Silver Dollar available online from Silver.com.

The obverse design of the 1800 Draped Bust Silver Dollar presents Lady Liberty in right-facing relief. This was only the second obverse design used on silver dollars and marked a shift toward more refined coin artwork. Liberty’s long hair flows behind her, and the design is bordered by 13 stars symbolizing the original states. Historians believe Liberty’s image was inspired by Ann Willing Bingham, a prominent figure in Philadelphia society.

On the reverse of the coin, the heraldic eagle is shown supporting a shield that represents national unity. This design was introduced in 1798 and was still relatively new when the 1800 issue was struck. The eagle holds arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing strength and peace, while 13 stars appear above its head in a clustered arrangement.

The 1800 Draped Bust Silver Dollar was issued during a time when the United States was largely agricultural and sparsely populated. Most Americans lived in rural settings, and formal banking systems were limited. Foreign coins circulated alongside American money, making domestically minted silver dollars an important step toward economic independence.

These 1800 Draped Bust Silver Dollar Coins are graded VF25 by PCGS. Coins in Very Fine condition show clear signs of circulation wear, though major design elements remain identifiable. The Dotted Date designation refers to small dots near the date on the obverse, a feature unique to certain Draped Bust Dollars.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
