The Morgan Silver Dollar is an important part of American coin history, celebrated for its beautiful design and meaningful legacy. The coin was first minted in 1878 and continued production annually until 1904, before being reintroduced in 1921 after a 17-year pause in silver dollar minting. During its history, the US Mint operated branch facilities in key cities, including Philadelphia, New Orleans, San Francisco, Carson City, and Denver. Among these, the Carson City Morgan Dollars are particularly desirable for collectors. Currently, you can find the 1883-CC Silver Morgan Dollar Coins available at Silver.com.

The Carson City Mint was specifically built by the United States Mint to utilize local silver discoveries from the American West. From 1878 to 1885, it struck Morgan Dollars each year. After a three-year break from 1886-1888, the mint resumed production in 1889 and continued making Morgan Dollars until it closed permanently in 1893. In 1883, the Carson City Mint produced 1,204,000 coins, which was the smallest number minted among the four active branch mints that year.

All of these 1883-CC Silver Morgan Dollar Coins are offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, securely packaged in plastic flips. For those interested in buying in larger quantities, these coins may also be available in tubes of 20, when stock allows. The Morgan Dollar is crafted from a blend of metals, containing 90% silver and 10% copper.

On the obverse of the 1883-CC Morgan Dollar Coin, you will find an impressive portrayal of Lady Liberty. Designed by George T. Morgan in 1878, this image features Liberty in left-profile relief, adorned with a Phrygian cap, laurel wreath, and coronet. Surrounding her are 13 stars, adding to the coin’s rich symbolism.

The reverse side of the 1883-CC Silver Morgan Dollar showcases a distinct depiction of the heraldic eagle, also designed by Morgan. This design presents a proud bald eagle in a frontal position, with its wings extended, clutching arrows of war in one talon and an olive branch representing peace in the other.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
