Bullion coins with a certified uncirculated grade are a worthy addition to any coin collection that focuses on long-term investment. That’s particularly true when the grading score is issued by the world’s most trusted third-party coin grading service. The Numismatic Guaranty Company (or NGC), founded in 1987, has graded more than 55 million coins in the years since, using the American Numismatic Association’s standardized “Sheldon scale” to ensure a grading score that will be accepted and upheld by dealers the world over. Silver.com offers just such a graded item with this 1884-CC Silver Morgan Dollar Coin.

Coin Highlights:

  • Comes in a protective plastic slab, labeled to certify its NGC grade of MS-63!
  • Struck at the Carson City Mint in 1884!
  • Consists of 0.7734 Troy ounce of 90% silver and 10% copper.
  • Face value of $1 issued by the United States government.
  • The obverse side features a profile effigy of Lady Liberty.
  • A heraldic eagle appears on the reverse.

This 1884-CC Silver Morgan Dollar Coin ships in a lightweight protective plastic slab, sporting a label to confirm its NGC grade of MS63, or Mint State 63. This identifies it as fairly attractive to the eye despite a somewhat impaired luster, a number of small contact marks and hairline scratches, and a few large marks that could potentially appear in prime focal areas. Each shipment is fully insured against loss or damage by Silver.com.

This coin comes from an extraordinary hoard of Morgan Dollars, previously thought to be almost prohibitively rare, whose discovery in the Sixties changed the face of coin collecting. The General Services Administration launched a program, spanning the Seventies and the early Eighties, to auction a supply of some three million silver dollars that became known as the GSA Hoard of Morgans to the collector’s market. Among these coins, some of the most numerous were those issued in 1884 and struck at the Carson City Mint.

The obverse side of this coin features an effigy of Lady Liberty with the inscriptions “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “1884.” Thirteen decorative stars at the coin’s rim representing America’s founding states.

Clutching an olive branch and a bundle of arrows in its talons, a heraldic eagle appears on the reverse. This is accompanied by the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
