The Gold $20 Double Eagle is one of the most popular collectible coins in the 21st century. These beautiful gold specimens were initially produced by the United States Mint for use in circulation, but were removed from circulation in 1933 and the vast majority melted down. Remaining specimens offer an excellent opportunity to own historic American gold coins. The Philadelphia Mint, already busy producing the vast majority of national coinage across various denominations, struck 344,280 of these coins. The San Francisco Mint produced more than double the other two branch mints with a total of 996,175 coins in 1893.

All of the 1893-S Pre-33 Gold $20 Liberty Double Eagles listed here come in Mint State 61 condition. Coins in this condition have impaired or otherwise diminished mint luster. It is possible for the coins to showcase flaws such as large and small contact marks throughout the field, noticeable hairlines, and other scuff marks.

On the obverse of 1893 Pre-33 Gold Liberty Double Eagles is the Liberty portrait designed by James B. Longacre. This exact design is featured only on the Double Eagles and is inspired by Christian Gobrecht’s bust of Liberty used on the Eagle, Half Eagle, and Quarter Eagle coins. This left-profile relief shows Liberty with a coronet crown and a ring of 13 stars.

The reverse side of the 1893-S Gold $20 Liberty Double Eagle features the heraldic eagle of the United States. This front-facing image of the eagle includes a large US national shield, the arrows of war, and the olive branch of peace. The field also includes a ring of 13 stars with an inscription of the national motto.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
