The Indian Gold Half Eagle was the last version of the US Mint’s $5 gold coin before it was discontinued. Introduced in 1908, it was used in circulation until 1933 but was only minted from 1908-1916 and again in 1929. Silver.com now offers a three-coin set of early Pre-33 $5 Indian Gold Half Eagles, each in Extremely Fine condition. Right now, 1910-1912 Pre-33 Gold $5 Indian Half Eagle 3-Coin Sets are available at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Ships with in individual capsules within a 3-coin box!
  • Includes 1 coin from each date, 1910, 1911, and 1912!
  • Extremely Fine condition!
  • Consists of .242 Troy ounces of actual gold content per coin (.726 Troy ounces total).
  • Bears a face value of $5 (USD), backed by the United States government.
  • The obverse features a portrait of an indigenous figure.
  • The reverse showcases an American bald eagle.
  • Please note that this set includes one coin from each of the listed years.

Each of the Pre-33 Gold $5 Indian Half Eagle Coins in this 1910-1912 3-Coin Set comes individually encapsulated within a wooden, three-coin box. Each set includes one coin from each date, 1910, 1911, and 1912. These coins are in Extremely Fine condition, showing only slight wear on the raised areas, and some coins may still retain traces of original mint luster.

The $5 Indian Half Eagle stands out in American numismatic history for its incuse strike, a minting method that presses the design into the coin rather than raising it in relief. It was also the first US coin to feature an indigenous figure.

The obverse of each Pre-33 $5 Indian Half Eagle displays a left-facing portrait of an indigenous figure. Though not based on any specific person, this was the first time an indigenous figure appeared on a US coin. The portrait includes a feathered headdress and is encircled by 13 stars, the word LIBERTY, and the coin’s date.

On the reverse of the $5 Gold Indian Half Eagle, an American bald eagle is perched on a sheaf of arrows. The arrows are wrapped in an olive branch, symbolizing both strength and peace.

We also never have access to your credit/debit card details, as they are securely communicated directly to the payment processor (Authorize.net) and never retained by Silver.com. For this reason, we also don't process credit/debit card orders over the phone, as it is the least secure way to process those transactions.

Upon completing checkout with a VISA or MasterCard credit/debit card, you may be promoted for additional details to confirm your identity and protect our customers against credit card fraud.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
