Proof Silver American Eagle Coins are one of the three options available from the United States Mint in the Silver Eagle collection. The bullion and proof versions of the coin debuted in 1986, followed by the burnished option in 2006. The coins are all available in 1 oz silver and the proof is exceedingly popular with collectors. The 1986-2019 Proof Silver American Eagle 33-Coin Set is currently available to you for purchase online at

Coin Highlights:

  • Coins ship to you inside of a 33-coin box and come with Certificates of Authenticity!
  • Features one of each of the 33 coins in the Proof Silver American Eagle Series!
  • Consists of a total of 33 Troy ounces of .999 fine silver.
  • Issued a total face value of $33 (USD) by the United States.
  • Walking Liberty is found on the coin’s obverse.
  • The heraldic eagle of the United States is on the coin’s reverse.

Silver American Eagle coins are available from the United States Mint each year. The Proof Silver Eagle coins come with a matte finish and a mirrored design background that creates visual contrast between the Walking Liberty and heraldic eagle designs and the surface of the coins. Proof Silver Eagles are prized by collectors.

The coins feature the same designs on the obverse and reverse sides each year. Unlike the bullion versions of the coin, the Proof Silver American Eagle coins have a mint mark on the reverse side to the lower-left field of the design element below the American bald eagle’s talon. Coins issued from 1986 to 1992 have the San Francisco Mint’s “S” mint mark. The coins issued from 1993 to 2000 have the “P” mint mark of the Philadelphia Mint. Since 2001, all Proof Silver Eagles have the “W” mint mark of the West Point Mint.

On the obverse of all Proof Silver American Eagle Coins in the 33-Coin set, you’ll find Adolph A. Weinman’s image of Walking Liberty. This left-profile depiction of Liberty captures her figure as she walks from right to left across the design field. She holds her right hand out toward the horizon while wearing the American flag over her shoulder.

The reverse face of 1986-2019 Proof Silver American Eagle Coins in the 33-coin set include the heraldic eagle of the United States. This modern version of the design was created in 1986 by John Mercanti and includes the American bald eagle, national heraldic shield, and the eagle’s talons holding the arrows of war and olive branch of peace.

These 1986-2019 Proof Silver American Eagle Coins feature a 33-coin box that holds each of the individual coins. Each coin in the set comes with its own Certificate of Authenticity. You’ll find no 2009s in this set as the US Mint halted Proof Silver Eagle production that year to focus on the silver bullion coins.
