The collectible version of the Silver Eagle coin from the United States Mint is the Proof Silver American Eagle. These beautiful silver coins have been available from the United States Mint since 1986, with only one year in which the coins were not struck. You now have a chance to purchase all issued coins in this collection in one 34-coin set. Now, 1986-2020 Proof Silver American Eagle 34-Coin Sets are available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Coin set ships to you inside of a presentation case from the mint!
  • Features each coin from the Proof Silver Eagle collection from 1986 to 2020!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .999 fine silver per coin.
  • Issued individual face values of $1 (USD) by the United States.
  • The obverse includes the depiction of Walking Liberty.
  • On the reverse is the heraldic eagle of the United States.
  • Coins feature varying mint marks by date.

Proof Silver American Eagles in this 34-coin set include date marks from the 1986 introduction of the series to the latest 2020 date mark in the series. The set is missing a 2009 date mark as the United States Mint was forced to suspend its collectible silver coins that year to meet the intense demand for silver bullion coins.

The United States Mint is legally required to produce the Silver Eagle bullion coin each year as long as demand requires. Due to the Great Recession and intense interest in silver bullion, the 2009 allotment of silver blanks for coining Silver Eagles was entirely rerouted to the bullion version of the coin. The proof and burnished coins were, therefore, suspended due to a lack of available blanks.

For the obverse design of each Proof Silver American Eagle in the 34-coin set, the US Mint revived the historic Walking Liberty design. Her figure featured here was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and used on the US half-dollar coin from 1916 to 1947.

On the reverse field of 1 oz Proof Silver American Eagles in this set is the heraldic eagle of the United States. Modernized for this release in 1986 by John Mercanti, it includes an American bald eagle with the national shield, a cluster of 13 stars, the olive branch of peace, and the arrows of war.

These 1986-2020 Proof Silver American Eagle 34-Coin Sets are offered to you with a presentation box that individually houses the 34 coins from 1986 to 2020. The individual coins have frosted design elements and mirrored background fields.
