The 1986-2021 Silver Eagle 37-Coin Set is the first in the history of this broad offering to include two coins of the same date in one set. This is a result of the US Mint’s historic refresh of the reverse design in 2021 and the fact that it released two versions of the 2021 Silver Eagle BU coin. Early issues in 2021 featured the original heraldic eagle on the reverse, while Type 2 coins issued from July 2021 onward carried the new soaring eagle design on this side.
All of the 1986-2021 Silver American Eagle 37-Coin Sets in this listing at Silver.com with 37 individual coins, each one housed in its own NGC protective plastic slab. The coins have Mint State 69 certifications from the NGC, indicating coins that have full, original mint luster and no more than two minor detracting flaws. Examples of those flaws include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines that must be located outside of the primary focal points of the coin.
On the obverse side of the coins in the 1986-2021 Silver Eagle 37-Coin Set, you will find an effigy of Walking Liberty. This design was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and featured on the US half dollar until 1947. In this design, Liberty is featured in left-profile relief walking toward the sun on the horizon with her right hand outstretched and her left carrying branches of oak and laurel.
The reverse face of 1986-2021 Silver Eagle Coins in this 37-Coin Set offer one of two images of the American bald eagle. The 1986 coins through the 2021 Type 1 release have the original heraldic eagle design from John Mercanti. For the 2021 Type 2 coin, Emily Damstra’s new depiction of a bald eagle soaring through the air with an oak branch in its talons is found on the coins.
