These coins have the lowest mintage numbers of all gold bullion American Eagle Coins ever. There were just 24,100 coins being created. The next lowest mintage is the 1990 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coin, with a low mintage of just 31,000.

The American Eagle Coin program began in 1986. At that time, buyers just had a few options. Today, there are four different gold weights and three different finishes for people to choose from when making their purchases. With 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz options in bullion, proof, and uncirculated finishes, you are sure to find something that you love.

There are also four metal types, each with their own unique designs. You can buy American Eagle Coins in gold, silver, platinum, and palladium.

On the obverse, Lady Liberty is seen as she walks away from the Capitol building in Washington D.C. In the image by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, she is depicted with the sun gleaming around her from behind her back. She holds a flaming torch and an olive branch. The design was created in 1907 for Gold Double Eagle Coins.

The reverse design shows Miley Busiek’s family of bald eagles as the male returns with an olive branch in his talons. In the nest, a female and hatchling wait for him. This design was created especially for Gold American Eagle Coins.

Each coin contains 91.67 gold by weight, making them exactly 1/2 Troy ounce of pure 22-karat gold. Copper and silver are combined the gold for additional strength and durability.

All packaging is extremely generic, and our labels on the outside of the box give no indication as to the valuables within. Please note, larger orders may require multiple parcels.

The vast majority (99+%) of customer orders ship from our primary vault in Las Vegas, Nevada.

What if my order is lost or stolen in transit?

All Orders are fully insured by Silver.com from the time of carrier pickup to the time of finaly delivery, defined as a signature or delivery confirmation from the carrier. If your order is lost, damaged or stolen in transit, please reach out to us immediately so we can work with the carrier to recover your package or, failing that, begin the claims process.

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.
